Helipads, Heliports and Helidromes with associated facilities are being Designed, planned and constructed for Civil Aviation Sector towards Disaster Preparedness, by Uttarakhand Govt. and funded by Asian Development Bank.
Aero Survey alongwith its Joint Venture Partners IIDC Limited (Formerly IL&FS Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd) and egis India Consulting Engineers Pvt Ltd. were awarded the Contract by Uttarakhand Govt. to provide Consulting Services for Designing, Planning and Supervision of Construction Works for Civil Aviation Sector towards Disaster Preparedness in the State of Uttarakhand (India), as per the following details.
Location: Uttarakhand, India
Total Number of Helipads Planned 60 (Sixty)
Project Duration: 27 Months (From March 2015 to May 2017)
Client: Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority
Funding: Asian Development Bank
Project Summary: Uttarakhand being part of Himalayan Region is a disaster prone State and is vulnerable to various natural hazards like flash flooding, Landslides, Cloud bursts, forest fires, Earthquakes etc. Natural disaster of June 2013 resulted in huge damage of life, roads, assets/ infrastructure with particular mention of loss of lives & severe damage to property. Thus there was a strong need for preparation of State for disaster management.
Scope of Work: To assist Uttarakhand State in building its disaster preparedness by Designing, Planning and Supervision of Construction Works of Helipads, Heliports and Helidromes with associated facilities for Civil Aviation Sector leading to Search & rescue, evacuation and provision of safety and other essential services for affected personnel in the event of any natural calamities like flood, Earthquakes, Land slide etc.

Thanks for your query. In this context it is confirmed that as per DGCA India Civil Aviation Requirements, only multi engined helicopters are authorised to operate from Rooftop Helipads.
